This is quite a spectacular one!
This came to my mind in a kind of random manner — one you could only describe as magical. 😉
The Moment It Started
So, I was playing the video game Hogwarts Legacy on my Nintendo Switch when I was reminded of my banishing practice by the spell Protego, which creates a protective bubble around oneself.

In my mind, I was thinking:
Hey, that’s pretty cool. Why can’t it be that simple?
Just say Protego, move my hand with my wizard stick — or baguette magique, as the French would say — and boom: banished.
Would be cool if it were that easy, right?
But yeah, this was the moment when I started to use Harry Potter spells in my day-to-day practice.
Mostly just in my mind.
Or maybe on the astral plane?
Using Spells in Daily Practice

I used spells like Accio to find lost items.
I used Stupor when I was pissed at someone and had to “fight” back.
I also found it really useful to use spells like Avada Kedavra on “parts” or “energies” — or, let’s say, unwanted characteristics of myself or my interaction with the universe altogether.
For example, there was a really lazy part of myself that was always too lazy to go to the gym.
I pictured it in my mind as its own entity.
Maybe a person.
Maybe it looked like me, but represented that specific part of me.
Then:
Avada Kedavra!
Boom.

I felt an effect.
It was kind of cool and crazy at the same time.
Don’t expect that part of you to somehow be lost. But I could really experience change in my life. I’m not thaaat lazy anymore.
Still, I’m me.
Still, something shifted.
Cool, right?
The Mind
Then, after a few weeks, I was listening to the audiobook The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael A. Singer.
In it, the author writes about giving your mind an inner picture — seeing it as another person in your mind’s eye.
That is what I did.

I pictured my mind as my self in a meditating, lotus-pose-like position.
And just before I was even thinking or trying to see what difference it would make, another part of me went:
Silencio!
You know, the spell the Death Eaters often used to silence someone.
While swinging my imaginary, astral wizard baguette — sorry, “stick” — something happened.
And now?
Silence.
No thoughts.
It felt weird.
WTF?!
The Strange Silence
I could somehow still think a little bit, maybe on another plane of normal thinking.
Sometimes thoughts tried to arise, but they stopped in the sense that they got silenced right at the root of the thought.
Like, for REAL?!
Is it really that simple?
You gotta try.
Going Deeper With the Practice
But yeah, you can even go further.
Since I would say that if you don’t keep your focus, you will start to think again after a while, you could push it deeper with spells.
For example, I found Silencio Maxima and forming a Protego sphere around the mind’s visualization even more effective.

After a few times, you really get used to that weird feeling of not thinking.
It’s crazy.
Also, sometimes thinking is necessary.
Soo…
Reversing the Spells
I normally reverse my H.P. spells by putting “De” in front of the original spell.
So, for example:

Desilencio
That is what I use if I cannot otherwise reverse that change.
For me, normally, after a while, I automatically start thinking again.
But I can also just remember that moment of not thinking and have it here again.
I don’t need to do the spell, the visualization, and all that stuff anymore after a few times.
I just can do it.
Just like that.
Can You Do It Too?
It’s interesting, but I have only told my wife so far — and she could also do it.
Can you?
After all, I would still say a meditation routine is necessary to hold that silenced mind. And I would also say that you can probably silence around 90% of it this way.
As said before, thoughts still sometimes try to arise and get silenced.
But yeah, it’s fun to play with.
A Small Footnote
I practiced meditation a lot a few years ago.
Nowadays, not so much.
Still, there was a time when I meditated every morning for 45–90 minutes.
EVERY DAY.
So maybe that’s a basis you need for this.
I don’t know.
Try and tell me. 😉
With love and good vibes,
Prince Patrick
